Over the years, our caring and dedicated Parent Teacher Association (PTA) has generously funded a diverse range of items to enrich our learning and school life.

From music to sports and campus style, here’s a look at what the PTA has provided for our students:

• Music 🎶: Drum kits, cymbals, bass guitars, amplifiers, and acoustic guitars
• Table Tennis 🏓 : New table for break-time fun
Sports Hall 🕰️: New large clock and timer to keep us on track
• Campus Life 🪑 🌬️: Cafeteria furniture, a vibrant school mural, and swamp fans to keep us cool!
• Tech 💡🖥️ : Auditorium insights, light diffusion kits, and digital signage displays

A huge thank you to our PTA for creating these wonderful opportunities. They’ve also promised us an unforgettable WIS Bazaar on 14 March, from 11am to 4pm! See you and your families there!

MYP Year 9 Geography

This term, our Year 9 Geography students stepped up to the challenge, investigating how we can balance social, environmental and economic needs to create truly "green" urban spaces.

The culmination of this unit saw students applying their knowledge to a local context: the classic three-floor Hong Kong village house. The challenge was to take this standard design and reimagine it as a model of sustainability.

Students were tasked with designing and building a physical model that featured at least five sustainable improvements. To ensure their projects were as eco-friendly as their designs, students followed a strict rule: all models had to be constructed entirely from recycled materials found at home.

The results were nothing short of impressive. Our young geographers showcased a deep understanding of urban planning through

- Renewable Energy: Innovative placements of solar arrays and wind turbines.
- Water Conservation: Clever rainwater harvesting systems and greywater recycling.
- Food Security: Vertical gardens and rooftop "farm-to-table" plots.
- Waste Management: Integrated composting systems and creative upcycling.

It was inspiring to see such ingenious solutions to the real-world problems of electricity supply and waste management.

Well done to all our Year 9 students for proving that with a little creativity and recycled cardboard, we can build a more sustainable future.

Our lunchtime Students vs Staff netball game reflects the shining example of our students’ impressive energy and unwavering courage.

This Wellbeing Redefined activity has once again proven that the final score is a full 10/10 for community spirit.

We are here to encourage and support our students as they continue to push beyond their limits.

On 20 January, ESF West Island School (WIS) Post-16 students and the ESF Senior Management team kicked off the WIS Weez Walk.

The WIS relay team took on the entire route with each student completing a 5km section of the 62km route, showing incredible resilience and teamwork in the name of mental health awareness. The Weez Walk isn’t just about the physical challenge; it’s about the visible support we show one another. Seeing the WIS students lead this charge with such passion is an inspiration to the entire foundation.

Huge shoutout to everyone who pushed their limits for such a meaningful cause.

The results were nothing short of impressive. Our young geographers showcased a deep understanding of urban planning through

- Renewable Energy: Innovative placements of solar arrays and wind turbines.
- Water Conservation: Clever rainwater harvesting systems and greywater recycling.
- Food Security: Vertical gardens and rooftop "farm-to-table" plots.
- Waste Management: Integrated composting systems and creative upcycling.

It was inspiring to see such ingenious solutions to the real-world problems of electricity supply and waste management.

Well done to all our Year 9 students for proving that with a little creativity and recycled cardboard, we can build a more sustainable future.

Our lunchtime Students vs Staff netball game reflects the shining example of our students’ impressive energy and unwavering courage.

This Wellbeing Redefined activity has once again proven that the final score is a full 10/10 for community spirit.

We are here to encourage and support our students as they continue to push beyond their limits.

On 20 January, ESF West Island School (WIS) Post-16 students and the ESF Senior Management team kicked off the WIS Weez Walk.

The WIS relay team took on the entire route with each student completing a 5km section of the 62km route, showing incredible resilience and teamwork in the name of mental health awareness. The Weez Walk isn’t just about the physical challenge; it’s about the visible support we show one another. Seeing the WIS students lead this charge with such passion is an inspiration to the entire foundation.

Huge shoutout to everyone who pushed their limits for such a meaningful cause.

🔑 one specific prop
🎥 one cinematic technique

From frantic brainstorming to the final export, the creativity has been off the charts.

Our students are determined to hit that 6pm deadline - What will the results be?

Over the years, our caring and dedicated Parent Teacher Association (PTA) has generously funded a diverse range of items to enrich our learning and school life.

From music to sports and campus style, here’s a look at what the PTA has provided for our students:

• Music 🎶: Drum kits, cymbals, bass guitars, amplifiers, and acoustic guitars
• Table Tennis 🏓 : New table for break-time fun
Sports Hall 🕰️: New large clock and timer to keep us on track
• Campus Life 🪑 🌬️: Cafeteria furniture, a vibrant school mural, and swamp fans to keep us cool!
• Tech 💡🖥️ : Auditorium insights, light diffusion kits, and digital signage displays

A huge thank you to our PTA for creating these wonderful opportunities. They’ve also promised us an unforgettable WIS Bazaar on 14 March, from 11am to 4pm! See you and your families there!

As part of West Island School’s commitment to supporting a meaningful cause through the Weez Walk, students across all year groups stepped outside the classroom to complete a mini Weez Walk around the Pok Fu Lam neighbourhood.

It was a joyful day for everyone—celebrating mental health and wellbeing while strengthening connections and friendships along the way.

MYP Year 9 Geography

This term, our Year 9 Geography students stepped up to the challenge, investigating how we can balance social, environmental and economic needs to create truly "green" urban spaces.

The culmination of this unit saw students applying their knowledge to a local context: the classic three-floor Hong Kong village house. The challenge was to take this standard design and reimagine it as a model of sustainability.

Students were tasked with designing and building a physical model that featured at least five sustainable improvements. To ensure their projects were as eco-friendly as their designs, students followed a strict rule: all models had to be constructed entirely from recycled materials found at home.
