Every single donation can save or improve lives within our local community. Whether you are a regular donor or considering your first donation, your contribution will make a difference.
Thank you to our West Island School families for your incredible support in our previous blood drive. We look forward to continuing to make an impact together this year.

Sport is the heartbeat of the West Island School community.
Our sports programme is inclusive, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to represent the school in competitive sports and participate in year-round training. Every year, we proudly support almost 20 sports and around 85 teams. This year, more than half of our student population brought their passion to our sports programme.
We look forward to seeing even more students getting involved and representing our school with pride. If you are representing the school next year, now is the time to get ready and order your kit.

In May, we opened our doors for our transition Experience Days, giving our upcoming cohort their very first taste of what it means to find their purpose and realise their potential.
A massive shoutout to our incredible school ambassadors and student leaders who did a fantastic job introducing the WIS learning spirit to our newest peers, modeling our core values of Community, Compassion, and Courage from day one.
Thank you to our dedicated Lower School teaching and guidance teams for their unwavering support and commitment to ensuring a welcoming and supportive transition for our new students and their families as they prepare to take on secondary school this August.
The future is bright, and it starts right here at the heart of our West Island School community. Welcome to the WIS family!

The future belongs to the storytellers, the innovators and the critical thinkers.
At West Island School, we cultivate the forward-thinking work ethic and creative confidence that prepare our future changemakers to thrive in dynamic global industries.
Dr Young’s impressive journey as a multi-award-winning writer is a powerful testament to what happens when a young person’s passions are fully encouraged and nurtured with a personalised pathway.
A thank you to Dr Young for returning to our campus and sharing her successful journey in her higher education pursuit and professional development. It was great to see our students asking meaningful questions to prepare for their future steps.
This week, our students dove into their exciting Interdisciplinary Learning (IDL) projects. Our Year 7 students explored how arts and language express cultural and personal identity.
Collaborating with Creative Arts and Modern Foreign Language teachers, students researched their heritage to compose music, write lyrics, create art and build websites showcasing their unique stories. They engaged in hands-on, student-centred inquiry that extended far beyond the classroom walls.
Our interdisciplinary units connect learning to local and global contexts, building resilience, collaboration and community.
Discover how we inspire futures through a personalised learning experience.
We invite prospective families to our upcoming campus tour to explore how our world-class facilities and student-centric approach empower every student to thrive.

At West Island School, the important lessons are found in ‘courage’.
Through meeting Benedict Allen, our Year 7 and 8 students drew direct connections between real-world survival and the IB Learner Profile attributes they practice in their own learning.
By hearing the story of his 3,600-mile solo trek, they identified how risk-taking, resilience and being an open-minded inquirer are essential for their own journeys.
Thank you, Benedict Allen @benedictallenexplorer and the RoyalGeographicalSociety @rgs_hk, for fueling our students’ curiosity and helping us cultivate the adventurers of tomorrow.

West Island School is an energetic learning environment that grows students' reading confidence every single day.
It was nothing short of magical when the West Island School community truly came alive during our Book Character Dress-up Day.
We are incredibly proud to have a staff body that is passionate about leaning into the magic of storytelling. By stepping straight out of the pages alongside our students, our teachers demonstrated that creativity, courage and compassion are at the heart of learning.
As we move on from Term 2, our dedication to academic excellence and student wellbeing continues to guide us.
In our March update video, our Vice Principal and Lead Child Protection Officer, Ms Devine-Costa, discusses the importance of our home-school partnership and shares how we are continuing to advance our child protection and safeguarding standards.
Quoi de neuf cette semaine? It’s Francophonie Week at West Island School, and our students are fully immersed in activities celebrating French‑speaking cultures.
Through games, workshops, crêpe‑making, movie screenings, and singing, they are developing their communication skills, creativity, collaboration and cultural awareness while discovering fun ways of learning a language. @francophonie_hk
