🌿 Eleven WISustain students attended the ESF x TASS (The Alliance of Sustainable Schools) sustainability leaders conference at ESF Discovery College last week.

They participated in sustainability-based challenges, heard from inspiring climate leaders like Clover Hogan, Anthony Dixon, and Dr. Margaret Burnett, and engaged in a panel discussion with climate NGO founders Carly Leung, Justin Yeung, and Mark Cheung.

The conference provided valuable insights into sustainability leadership, the importance of networking, and overcoming challenges faced by youth climate activists. 🌍

Year 12 Ikshita Kumar said:"The conference was amazing, the talks were very informative and helped us plan for the future, not only for the school but for job prospects too. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know other students, getting ideas and learning what they have done in their school."

Year 12 Rachel Chiu said:"Overall, the conference was a truly inspiring experience that left me feeling motivated to take initiative within our school community!" 💚

The theme was "Mindset into Motion," with daily focuses like tuning in, learning, service, connection, and being active. Last Friday concluded this year's Mental Health Week.

Some of the highlights were:

🕵️‍♂️Uncovering Histories: Students Dive into Genealogy with 'Who Do You Think You Are?' CAS Activity 📜

CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) activities at West Island School are one of the ways we provide personalised education to each and every student. ✨

One of these activities is a new one called "Who Do You Think You Are?", based on the BBC programme of the same name. In this show, genealogists research the family history behind different celebrities and present it to them. But instead of celebrities, students participating in this CAS activity will work in pairs to find out more about the genealogy behind school staff members.

Belinda Greer, ESF's CEO, kicked off the event with an inspiring story about the theme of "Change" for the Lunar New Year. 🌙✨

🎉 Yuan wins Sports Day 2025! 🏆 West Island students proudly wear their Dynasty shirts and give their best on the open fields of Stanley Ho Sports Centre last Friday.
The day also included, for the first time, the Year12 and 13 Old School Games which included the Egg & Spoon Race, Sack Racing and The Floor Is Lava .
Kudos to all the competitors and the enthusiastic audience! Go WIS! 🎉

🎉 Lunar New Year Assembly Highlights 🎉

This year's assembly was a spectacular showcase of talent from various ESF schools! 🌟

Belinda Greer, ESF's CEO, kicked off the event with an inspiring story about the theme of "Change" for the Lunar New Year. 🌙✨

The audience was thrilled by amazing performances, including:

💃 Various dance styles
🎤 Mandarin rap
🎶 Music ensemble
📜 Poetry reading
🥁 Drumming
🎤 Singing
🎶 Human Orchestra
