Family-School Partnership

Across all academic faculties and pastoral departments, our goal is to maintain an open, transparent, and vibrant dialogue with our parent community. By working closely together, we nurture well-rounded, confident learners who are fully prepared to navigate their personal and academic futures.

New Family Induction

Taking place each September in Term 1, the New Family Welcome Evening establishes a foundational school-family partnership. New families have the valuable opportunity to connect with their child's Tutors and Heads of Year. The evening brings key information about the academic year to light, including an exciting introduction to our annual activity week, Horizons Week.

Academic and Higher Education Support

Held each September in Term 1, our Years 9 and 11 Options Evenings unpack the curriculum for I/GCSE, IB, and BTEC pathways, helping families navigate key subject selections. To ensure holistic planning, our Higher Education and Careers team is available, offering expert guidance on university applications and long-term career next steps.

  • University Fair: Students in Years 10 to 13 and their families engage directly with representatives from prestigious universities worldwide, gaining critical admissions insights and exploring diverse global pathways.
  • Coffee and College Series: Our monthly parent presentations provide a consistent touchpoint throughout the academic year. Topics span from the technical mechanics of profile building to broader philosophical discussions on the future of education, demystifying the university application process.
  • Higher Education & Careers Resources: We maintain a dedicated online portal featuring a curated collection of tools designed to help families explore post-secondary options and identify best-fit institutions. This platform is continuously updated to ensure our community accesses the most current global data.

Parent Teacher Consultations (PTC)

We support every family in engaging in a highly valuable Parent Teacher Consultation (PTC).

Students are strongly encouraged to participate, empowering them to take ownership of their learning by actively discussing their strengths, challenges and progress. To ensure a seamless experience, the booking process opens for individual year groups at designated times throughout the school year.

Guidance and Wellbeing Sessions

Our Guidance and Achievement team offers wellbeing sessions for parents and students to foster emotional resilience, balance and mental wellness. These collaborative workshops provide families with practical strategies to navigate the transitions of adolescent life, ensuring every student feels deeply supported, connected, and empowered both personally and academically.

PTA Parent Coffee Morning

Taking place once every term, our Parent Coffee Morning is a wonderful PTA-led initiative for parents across all year groups.  In collaboration with our diverse Faculties, these sessions offer valuable, subject-based insights. It provides an excellent forum for parents to engage in meaningful discussions with teachers and connect with fellow parents within our community.

Exhibitions/Showcases of Students' Work

Each term, we host various exhibitions and showcases that invite parents to closely examine our students' diverse learning outcomes. These vibrant celebratory opportunities, for example

  • Performing Arts: School productions, concerts, and dramatic performances.
  • Visual Arts: Curated exhibitions displaying student artwork.
  • Academic Showcases: The IB Theory of Knowledge (TOK) Exhibition and MYP Student-Led Showcases.
