WIS Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is dedicated to creating a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive community that promotes lifelong learning and personal growth for all students. Our commitment to enhancing the educational experience is reflected in our various initiatives and events, made possible by the dedication of volunteers and generous support from parents.
- Community Engagement
We hosted two Coffee Mornings, providing parents with an informal setting to connect and discuss ways to support our school. We welcomed new Year 7 parents in September 2023 and Year 6 transitioning parents in May 2024. These gatherings have fostered a sense of belonging among new parents and strengthened relationships within the community. The PTA has also effectively communicated parents' concerns to school management.
- Academic Excellence - Support for Educators
To support academic excellence, the PTA organized a First Aid Course for 12 students, facilitating their involvement in first aid teams and inspiring interest in medical careers. Our new initiative, Fireside Chats, has deepened parents' understanding of various topics. Additionally, we supported key school events such as Sports Day, the IB Art Exhibition, the School Musical, and the WIS Model United Nations (WISMUN). We also hosted a generous teacher and staff appreciation lunch to recognize our educators' hard work.
- Fundraising Achievements
This year, the PTA successfully raised $179,000 through events like the Diwali Ball, Sports Day, second-hand uniform sales, and the annual WIS Bazaar. We allocated $314,000 from previous fundraising efforts to fund auditorium lights, outdoor fans, Music and Film program support, author visits and digital signage displays. These funds provided additional resources to engage students effectively.
- Volunteer Participation
Our volunteers are the backbone of our initiatives. Their active involvement in school activities helps to foster greater collaboration between families and school. This year, over 100 parents volunteered in various events and committees, demonstrating increased engagement. Volunteers have fun and enjoy getting to know each other, which motivates them to continue volunteering for upcoming events.
Looking ahead, we are excited to continue and strengthen our partnership with the school and parents. Thank you all for your support and ongoing dedication to our school community!
