Vicki Hallatt 

Principal

Vicki Hallatt is originally from the UK but has spent her career working in international schools across six countries, including Hong Kong. She is a History, Global Politics and TOK teacher and has held a number of academic and pastoral roles in her career. Vicki has a deep passion for teaching, learning and innovation and she has worked with Harvard Graduate School of Education on innovation, and was an early adopter of High Performance Learning (HPL). In addition to this, Vicki has completed an MA in Education and holds an NPQH (National Professional Qualification of Headship) from UCL in London. Vicki believes strongly in holistic education and has led school trips all over the world. 

 

 

Helen Devine-Costa   

Vice Principal Post 16

 

Having taught at West Island School from 2007 to 2011, Helen Devine-Costa became Vice Principal in 2019 and has since led on Academic and Pastoral development in Post 16 and on whole school safeguarding.

 

 

Helena Murchie

Vice Principal

 

Helena Murchie has been Vice Principal at West Island School for five years. Her time at ESF had also seen her as a teacher at King George V School for six years.

 

 

Mike Williams

Vice Principal 

 

Mike Williams has been at WIS for 18 years, at ESF for 22 years and teaching in Asia for 26 years.

He started at WIS as a Physics teacher and has held a few different leadership positions including Head of Science.

He has been a Vice Principal for 8 years, leading on innovation, assessment and curriculum systems.

 

 

Margaret Lau

Business Manager

 

Margaret Lau has been the Business Operations Manager at West Island School since 2020 but was originally hired in 2014 as the HR & Office Manager. She is responsible for finance, HR, site & security, facility renovations, health & safety.
