Our educational philosophy is that success is not a narrow path, but one forged by curiosity, exploration, and self-discovery. Our role is to provide the environment and the opportunities for our students to not only find that passion and purpose but also to realise their unique potential in school and in life.

Our House System is built around six Chinese Dynasties: Han, Ming, Qing, Song, Tang and Yuan. These dynasties serve as the foundation for fostering identity, collaboration, and school spirit across all year groups. Every student, teacher, and staff member is allocated to one of these dynasties, creating a shared sense of belonging and community.
Horizons Week is an exciting opportunity for students to learn in non-traditional settings beyond the classroom. Every trip during Horizons Week is designed to broaden students' perspectives and enrich their experiential learning.
Interdisciplinary Learning (IDL) Units are designed to foster authentic, student-centred inquiry that connects learning to both local and global contexts. These units empower students to explore meaningful questions, build resilience and take ownership of their learning journey.
With over 100 CAS activities, CAS is the heart of the school and provides our students with abundant opportunities to develop themselves and their passions through a broad spectrum of inter, extra and co-curricular activities. The support our son receives from the teachers and staff at WIS has been transformative. Beyond the classroom, the encouraging feedback we receive as parents has given him the confidence to explore new challenges outside of school. We are especially grateful for the school’s commitment to personalised education; it was this tailored approach that led to his nomination for various competitions and his successful application to the Gifted Students Programme.

I can’t thank WIS enough for seeing the child, not just the student. The school’s focus on effort over results aligns with my goal for my daughter to simply be her best. Since starting here, the change in her has been incredible—she enjoys her classes and speaks so positively about her learning. I couldn’t have asked for a better environment. The hard work, time, and care from the staff are hugely appreciated.

WIS has been an incredible place of growth and learning for both my boys, who have different strengths and interests and yet have thrived both academically and personally under the positive and inclusive system of the school, where every child is nurtured, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Without the support of the school community and, in particular, the teachers who led the Most Competitive Pathway programme (MCP), I would have not come close to achieving my higher education goals. They noticed the potential and guided me towards a destination that I never thought was possible.

MYP Year 9 Geography
This term, our Year 9 Geography students stepped up to the challenge, investigating how we can balance social, environmental and economic needs to create truly "green" urban spaces.
The culmination of this unit saw students applying their knowledge to a local context: the classic three-floor Hong Kong village house. The challenge was to take this standard design and reimagine it as a model of sustainability.
Students were tasked with designing and building a physical model that featured at least five sustainable improvements. To ensure their projects were as eco-friendly as their designs, students followed a strict rule: all models had to be constructed entirely from recycled materials found at home.
The results were nothing short of impressive. Our young geographers showcased a deep understanding of urban planning through
- Renewable Energy: Innovative placements of solar arrays and wind turbines. - Water Conservation: Clever rainwater harvesting systems and greywater recycling. - Food Security: Vertical gardens and rooftop "farm-to-table" plots. - Waste Management: Integrated composting systems and creative upcycling.
It was inspiring to see such ingenious solutions to the real-world problems of electricity supply and waste management.
Well done to all our Year 9 students for proving that with a little creativity and recycled cardboard, we can build a more sustainable future.
Our lunchtime Students vs Staff netball game reflects the shining example of our students’ impressive energy and unwavering courage.
This Wellbeing Redefined activity has once again proven that the final score is a full 10/10 for community spirit.
We are here to encourage and support our students as they continue to push beyond their limits.
