Our educational philosophy is that success is not a narrow path, but one forged by curiosity, exploration, and self-discovery. Our role is to provide the environment and the opportunities for our students to not only find that passion and purpose but also to realise their unique potential in school and in life.

Without the support of the school community and, in particular, the teachers who led the Most Competitive Pathway programme (MCP), I would have not come close to achieving my higher education goals. They noticed the potential and guided me towards a destination that I never thought was possible.

WIS has been an incredible place of growth and learning for both my boys, who have different strengths and interests and yet have thrived both academically and personally under the positive and inclusive system of the school, where every child is nurtured, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.

What's New at WIS?
Welcome to the September Principal’s Update from Mrs Hallatt. This month has been filled with inspiring moments and meaningful milestones across our school community.
- Design Technology in Action - Alumni Return: WIS x NBA - Virtual University Fair - Inter-Dynasty Star Search - Dynasty Day Highlights - Welcoming New Families - Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS)
We can’t wait to see everybody at the Diwali Ball after the half-term break. Have a great holiday and a happy Mid-Autumn Festival.
Our exciting finals of the Inter-Dynasty Star Search showcased the outstanding talent of our students.
This year, we received over 100 entries spanning 14 diverse categories—including a newly introduced film category. Dance performances featured modern, K-pop, ballet and traditional Indian and Chinese styles. In the Originals category, participants impressed with original songs, magic acts, gymnastic routines and even stand-up comedy.
Congratulations to the winners and runners-up. Well done to our Year 12 students Ishina and Katrina and the Circle in the Water Committee for their dedicated support in this year’s Star Search.
On Tuesday, we celebrated Dynasty Day — our termly house event where the school community comes together to build community, share compassion, and showcase courage.
Students in Dynasty-themed houses participated in a wide range of activities, giving their all.
At Splash Bash, students battled it out in a fun sponge dodge activity — soaked but smiling from start to finish.
Years 9–10 sparked scientific curiosity in the labs, working in teams to achieve collective results.
Years 7–8 explored The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind in their Battle of the Books, uncovering themes of resilience and innovation.
Swimmers at our Swim Gala demonstrated sportsmanship and energy with every stroke. Students also enjoyed dodgeball, meditation and yoga.
It was a day filled with energy, teamwork, and house pride — a true celebration of our vibrant school spirit.

Whether competing or exploring new sports, our students have been fully engaged in the activities they are passionate about.
Downtime away from the courts and fields offers a golden opportunity to reflect on how our favourite sports have inspired and motivated us.
We can’t wait to continue sharing our love for sport with our students tomorrow — stay tuned!
Super-Typhoon Ragasa has had a major impact on Hong Kong. ESF has taken the proactive decision to suspend in-person learning at all of our schools tomorrow (Thursday, 25 September). The online learning instructions will be communicated to our students and families soon. We hope everyone is safe and well. Thank you for your support and patience.
Our Year 7 students have adapted to secondary school life with great enthusiasm. Since the start of the school year, their journey has been filled with curiosity, exploration, and self-discovery.
We are grateful to the Year 7 parents who joined yesterday’s Parent-Teacher consultations with their children—their engagement and insights are invaluable in supporting and advancing our students’ learning journey.
With Super Typhoon Ragasa approaching, EDB has announced that schools will be suspended from Tuesday, 23 September to Wednesday, 24 September.
Safety is always our top priority. Please take care of your families, and we will do our best to ensure continuity of learning.
Last Thursday and Friday, our Design and Technology students immersed themselves in two full days of practical, hands-on lessons—deepening their understanding through active learning.
From applying knowledge to collaborating with peers, our students explored real-world applications in a dynamic and engaging environment.
We look forward to seeing how these experiences inspire further creativity, problem-solving and innovation in their future academic and personal growth.
